Handsome In The Eyes of The Beholder [Me]

I have been longing to make such a post years ago but I never really did until today. Anyway, there are many more already added into my listing and I think many fans would actually agree with my taste eh? Here are 36 of them which are all stars in the Korean Entertainment Industry. I'm supposed that I have a longer list than this but I think these chosen ones are those top ones of my ideal in terms of physical appearances, talents, style, personalities portrayed, speaking manner and even their voices.

Since my choices consist of diverse types and styles of men [from cool and manly to cute and a little boyish], I was thinking about how to categorize them into different groups, but I find it difficult as they can interchange between these two extreme styles at times. So, I decided to go from the youngest to the oldest of age. I tried my best to find most recent photos of the stars which are clear and nice. Some are more up-to-date while some are photos shot 1 to 2 years ago.

You should be viewing from left to right for each row of images.
*Lol* Handsome men of different stages of growth. Woots! They beautified my blog!

My Views As a '91 Baby

When this video were shared by jinnyboytv online yesterday, it quickly becomes a big hit among the young Malaysians. While we are exposed to the needs and pressure of the society, we tend to think complicatedly and perceive things in the perception of others...sometimes we even lose direction when we were tired about fulfilling the taste of the masses and got ourselves caught in a tangled thought. For most of the time, we struggle and troubled over the problems we are to face in the mean time...and never learn to put them aside for awhile...for the sake of following the pace of the society. Even worst, many things had structure us to restrict ourselves and force us to wear a mask while dealing with the people. In the end, we often forget about the simple lifestyle we led in the past which is always there embedded somewhere in our memories...forget about how we smile for even the littlest thing. Those were the days we laughed purely for the sake of feeling happy, we cried purely for the sake of feeling sad regardless of how other might look at us. Those were the times when we were young. The important history of ours which is the comfort to us when we continuously meet with hardships in the near future.

I am indeed feeling very glad that I am one of the early 90s babies who went through living the years where analog technology is still largely existed, where we still have the opportunity to act like what a child supposed to be, running around, playing cooking games, the hula hoop, yoyo, collecting free toys from junk food products, etc. Frankly speaking, I really dislike the overly embrace of the digital technologies of today which have influenced new generation to depend...to live...to experience childhood with cutting edge technologies. Yes. It is true that technologies allow a better and efficient communication system and services for the people. But is it really true that a long dependency on technologies in communication can help in weaving better relationships and understanding? In the end of the day, can technologies really be as effective as the interaction between people while face-to-face (f2f)? I think that many people of today is just basically utilizing the technologies as a tool to avoid things, to avoid the responsibilities and reality of communicating f2f. The phenomenon of the social networking sites is definitely one very obvious example. Of course, I am not here to say that it is a bad thing after all, but I think that the society needs to know how to balance without leaving out the importance of communicating f2f. Consider when and how should technologies be used and not relying on them for communication skills.

Every time in restaurants, when I see young children starting from age 2 playing with the ipad, samsung galaxy tab, iphone, android phones, I feel disgusted. The time where family members gather is the precious period where people get to interact and build mutual understanding. But what is it with the parents of today which allows children or even they themselves to indulge in digital devices to the extent that family members cannot chat with each other over the table? Where are all the f2f family communication which is so essential?  There was once I saw a young boy around age 3 to 4 who plays well with an iphone but even the basic and the simplest thing like eating rice properly without spilling all over the table...he cannot do it! I was like what the f***?! Do his parents know how to educate him or not?! If one day, there is a need for someone to develop an interaction content which is to teach the children how to eat properly, I think the world is coming to an end.

Not only I'm the one who is saying this, but many of them who are either my generation or even earlier generations are noticing that the kids of today is not experiencing childhood at all because they don't undergo  the only things a child get to do. I feel lucky that I actually did many similar things as filmed in the video and of course there are more to it...that is my generation...fortunately, I am among the last few who talks and act like child when I'm a child...who also get to express myself through living emotions and expressions...I thank my parents for being strict at times with me and paid responsibility in educating me about the basics in living. I thank them for not pampering me and even those incidents where I got scolded in front of others and being whacked with the cane when I did wrong. Also, I am glad that I was born in this family who loves nature, culture and history, who brought me to travel both locally and overseas that left me with so many memories, they teach me what is family and how it should be even though I can't say that I agree with everything my parents did are right. But we learn life long, so I wouldn't blame them for things they did which I realized is wrong because I am still not in their shoes yet, wait 'til I become a parent...It gonna be another stage where I can see more widely.

Nostalgic Design and My Crap

I always favor nostalgic designs and art. I bet those who checked out my blog various times from time to time would find that I always changed the feel and mood of my blog. Sometimes, I prefer rock, sometimes hip hop, sometimes, cool and sleek, sometimes sweet and pinkish, sometimes doodle and of course vintage styles. But, I guess I am more consistent with grungy vintage art designs. Old designs are beautiful and elegant. I am hoping that I can make a Victorian design wallpaper and character one day. It'd be cool and nice.

I had planned to update my blog since the starting of semester break and cheers! I finally did it today! Yesterday while I was tidying up the messy table, I actually came across a typography design Photoshop tutorial book which I had printed for ages ago. To be exact, since foundation year but I had never used it before. I came across a page which is a tutorial about how to make a sewn up looking typo. Then, I had this idea to create a wallpaper with the effects and has texture of a jeans as base. However, I ended up creating the above image. Don't misunderstand! That butterfly is a Photoshop brush I found online, not created on my own. No such determination to create such delicate visual at the mean time. But no doubt, the composition and color I did it on my own...Nice or not? Haha.

This is actually my first time to use Chinese words on my work. All the while is either English or Korean. *People who knew I'm a pure bred Chinese might be thinking about "Oi! Are you really Chinese? Why you embraced other nation's cultures?!" * Well, I must admit that I am into the pop culture of others but I really liked the traditional things about my own race and country. For this design, I think Chinese fonts can pull of the nostalgic-ness  of the picture. And the English words below, I simply put there because of its meaning. It is actually abstract from a Japanese song lyric.

I think people who knew me has never seen my works based on romance theme before. It's not that I say this design looks romantic but it does touch on romance especially the Chinese word I used here which simply means "Missing You". *Fine! fine! it can applies to whoever you missed!* Probably my choice of theme is very much influenced by what I favor and watch currently...slice of life...romance...peaceful...Maybe it is because I just turned 21and became an...adult? *vain*

In general, the entire feel of the wallpaper suggests not only nostalgic but also a bit magical. Actually, I think it somehow emit a scent of sadness...yes...scent and not sense...I can be a little weird at times...Once I drank a soup my dad cooked, I told my sister the taste feels circular...and yes circular is the word I used. Maybe those who study designs and arts may have this same experience as me where the sense and feel somehow...jumble up!

Long live the vintage art style!
